5/17  – Getting Ready for A New Academy

    1. Champs – Discussion and Questions are encouraged, but I need you to signal to me when they arise.  Please raise your hand instead of shouting out.   And remain attentive throughout the presentation.  Your screen should ONLY be on the presentation.
    2. Knowing that we are moving, what are you excited about, what concerns do you have?

  6. Discuss – How have budget cuts impacted education?
  7. Create – Imagine a school that’s 30 stories high, maybe with skateboard ramps between each floor. Design your own extraordinary school—a sphere in space perhaps—and then make a visual!
    1. Working in small groups (up to 4) – Create your own schools.  How could you design a school that would give students a quality education and be cost effective?  What would it need?  What could you get rid of?  What new or unique ideas do you have?  You may create a poster, sketch or powerpoint to share your idea.
    2. Create a Student Bill of Rights – Include 10 rules and rights that students deserve at your school

    4. You may include any of the following to support your work: Chart, Outline, Diagram, Picture, Summary, Bullet Points, Quotes.
    5. Brainstorm a plan, then create the poster in the time allotted.
    6. All digital or print media is allowed.  Recomended that you use PowerPoint, Word or Photoshop for this assignment
    7. Save your completed work as a JPEG and post it to your Tumblr.  (Both partners will need to do this, even though it is the same file.
